Get your heart, brain, mind and body talking to each other : The First Principles

by maya on July 15, 2008

The First Principles are very basic lessons for life. Almost banal and seemingly trite. Common sense, really.

We all live complicated lives with different priorities, relationships, desires and ambitions …all looking for basic happiness amongst many other things. Common sense tends to lose its place within this complex web. As soon as that happens humans tend to lose sight of the very basic and simple truths that are key to keeping the channels of communicaton open between the heart, brain, mind and the body. And as soon as this happens, we tend to more easily succumb to the external forces of life rather than act from within. This point is where the downward spiral starts … we are unahppy with ourselves and/or not content, we shut off either mentally, physically or emotionally. Shutting up a part of ourselves only makes it easier to justify our actions and further continue to react superficially to life. Sooner or later we wonder why we are not happy as can be ….what is amiss in our lives …??

The First Principles do the simple job of keeping the lines of communication open between the heart, brain, mind and body. A lot of things tend to take care of themselves if I live by these principles. Living by them has not always come naturally or been easy, but I have learnt to respect them over time. When I have a hard time I start my self check all over again - somewhat like a “n - point auto inspection checklist” …
